IQAN-MD5 - release of 5" and 8"

Torbjörn Andreasson (Product manager) 1 month ago in Master modules / MD5 updated 3 days ago 2

We have now released the first two variants in the IQAN-MD5 family, the 5" and the 8" variants.

You'll need IQANdesign 7.02 to use these, which also is available.

Answer

The IQAN-MD4 platform will continue to be supported alongside the newly introduced IQAN-MD5 platform. Our standard End-Of-Life (EOL) process for products involves a notification given three years prior to the Last Time Buy (LTB) opportunity, followed by a period that allows for last-time purchases, with the last delivery occurring approximately two years after the LTB date.

In the long term the IQAN-MD5 platform will live longer and is a better choice for you when planning your platform moving forward.

XC4x C1 Harness

Lars Bolduc 2 weeks ago in Expansion modules / XC4x updated by Michael Villagomez 2 weeks ago 1

Hello,

This is a small but frustrating nitpick.

The XC4x C1 Prototyping Harness (Parker no. 20085116) comes with wires installed in the C1:4 and C1:20 position.

This is annoying, because in order to use these modules, you need to install the ID Tag. (Parker no. 20085131 for example)

So every time you use this (expensive) part, you need to de-pin these two wires, remove them from the harness, and install the ID Tag.

Ideally there would be no wires present in these slots.

Like the older style XA2 Prototyping Harness (Parker no. 5030030).

Actuating 24Vdc coil with MD4

Deanne 2 months ago in Master modules / MD4 updated 1 month ago 13

Trying to actuate a 24Vdc coil for a skinner valve with the MD4. I know the MD4 only has LS digital outputs so I am wondering if we would need to use incorporate a voltage divider? I plan on using a relay for that coil as well.

MD4-10 Blue Screen while Ethernet Disconnect

Dragos Popa 7 months ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 months ago 5 1 duplicate

Hello,

We are using a MD4-10 (IQAN-6) as main controller for our vehicle. Recently, a bluescreen appeared while we were disconnected from the vehicle via the controller's ethernet port connexion; we were measuring. When it disconnected, I also felt a small static shot from my laptop (I don't know if this is related to the error but it is something I have noticed when it happened). The error code is os_error(0x1000002) with run fault pid 90131. I have looked on IQANForum and I have seen this error before but not from the same source.

We are fixing the wire ethernet connector on the vehicle but is this something that has a precedent ?

Have you seen this type of error before?

Thanks for the support.

Driving Low Dither Frequency Valves with XC4x Current Outputs

Justin Wagner 2 months ago in Expansion modules / XC4x updated 2 months ago 2

Has anyone had any success controlling valves that specify a low dither frequency below 71Hz with the XC4x current outputs?

We have a machine that is using a HAWE valve that specifies a dither frequency of 40-70Hz with 55Hz recommended. It also gives a range of dither amplitude of 20%-50%. The minimum frequency of the Cout channels on the XC4x modules is 71Hz. I'm sure 1Hz is not going to make a big difference if we set the frequency to 71Hz, but just wanted to see if anyone has had any similar experience or other recommendations. Just trying to avoid any possible stiction/hysteresis/chattering issues.

Green line appeared on MD4

Kevin 2 months ago in Master modules / MD4 0

We have installed a brand new display in a battery powered rig this week. Its serial number starting with 2305 and production date of 230202.

It has been OK for a week but after the battery in the rig went flat, this line appeared:

Only thing I can think of was the battery was depleted and resulted in the display flashing when the battery got to a level where it was unable to power the module. It performed OK after the battery was recharged but after a few hours the line appeared.

Anyone had this problem or similar before?

HBC Receiver (XR)

Kraige 6 years ago in Other updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 months ago 6

I have come across an old machine that has a HBC Remote Receiver which is connected into an MDL2 system using the XR expansion module. The proportional Inputs from the remote are configured as Voltage In and from the view point of the IQAN system operate from 0 to 5 volts so every time the proportional paddle is moved to full stroke in either direction a system generated error is produced and the input is turned off. Has anyone come across this problem is there a simple solution. The HBC suppliers say that can't change or scale the outputs from the receiver.

Wrong ID Tag on MD4 Start up

Graham 2 months ago in Master modules / MD4 updated by Gustav Widén (System support) 2 months ago 2

When powering on the MD4 the system message "IQAN-Master Wrong Id Tag!" appears on the screen.  This does not happen every time the machine is powered on but is getting more frequent.  Restarting or shutting off the power to the MD4 does not resolve the problem consistently.  The screen remains black when this issue happens.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Current leakaje XC42/43/44

Jesus 10 months ago in Expansion modules / XC4x updated by chuck streb 2 months ago 4

Hello, I have a current leakage problem in the XC-43 and XC-44 modules.

I am using Digital Out HS outputs to drive LED blinkers, but they don't turn off completely, there is a 5.8V voltage leakage. The flywheel diode is installed but we have had to install some power resistors in parallel to get them to switch off completely. The same problem has appeared when connecting a buzzer to Digital Out HS.
